Reliving Childhood

So I have just spent the past 2 hours watching theme tunes on youtube from when I was a kid.

I never spent that much time infront of the magic video box when I was you, probably as much as any other normal kid, but there is something about listening to those theme tunes that you knew so well that transports you back in time.

For me it was :

Fireman Sam (and it still makes me chuckle living in the real Pontypandy)
Buck O' Hare (A green rabbit, killing toads in space with a 6 legged duck? How can you resist)
Pinky and the Brain (Quite a adult theme cartoon, not family guy style)
Banaman
Super Ted
Round The Twist
Stop it and Tidy up (which I have now realised is voiced by Terry Wogan)
Thomas The Tank
Postman Pat
JIMBO (only rediscovered that cheeky lil bastard today)
The Hurricanes

I have to say that there are some non kids theme tunes that I honestly think will stand the test of time. Lovejoy is a great example. The antiques roadshow is still in use today but it needs to be heard whilst having a sunday roast in the oven.

My all time, number one, greatest theme song ever is Grandstand. Its amazing. Please, if you ever used to watch Grandstand look it up now, the full length version is a musical masterpeice. So catchy!

Until we meet again.
